Does this Austin address have expired permits?
Free check against City of Austin records. Expired permits stay with a property: the City asks you to acknowledge them when you apply for new work, and buyers often find them at closing.
What an expired permit means
A permit expires when work stops or the final inspection never happens. The City keeps it on the property record. When you apply for new work, Development Services asks you to submit an acknowledgment of the expired permits, and the City typically will not issue a related permit until the old one is resolved.
Most expired permits can be handled: reactivate the permit and pass the remaining inspections, or show that the work was never done. Older work may need to meet current code.
